HISTORY
Sydney based Sarah Lorien and Michael Trifunovic have been developing
their unique musical identity for a very formative ten years. Utilising
electric and acoustic domains their songs are hypnotic in texture
and poetic in reach, creating shadows and light.
Together with their diverse musical education and background, their
origins encompass styles from Classical and Jazz, to World and Contemporary.
These elements, in addition to the use of soundscapes and space
within their music, have created songs which demand attention not
only for their unique style, but their ability to strike a very
personal chord with their listeners.
Aqualash perform in Sydney venues such as The Basement, The Vanguard,
the Hopetoun Hotel, Circular Quay and Darling Harbour. Both Michael
and Sarah have worked with musicians and artists from varied backgrounds,
and have performed in various venues and festivals around Australia
and overseas.
Their self-titled debut CD receives airplay in Europe and the US.
They continue to get rave reviews and listener feedback worldwide.
This music transcends language.
Aqualash is also gaining interest in film and television as Michael
and Sarah have written music for short films and documentaries,
and had their songs used in the Australian feature length film,
‘Enemies Closer’.
Aqualash have also created multi media events incorporating art
exhibitions, photography, performance artists, fashion shows and
film screenings, within and around the live music performance.
